Convergent Communications Acquires Westford Communications

We are pleased to announce that effective immediately Westford Communications is now Convergent Communications.  Convergent Communications, a voice and video conferencing integrator acquired Westford Communications earlier this month. The acquisition is complete and the combined companies will be located at Convergent’s headquarters 18069 Edison Avenue in Chesterfield Missouri.

With this acquisition Convergent Communications now offers service for Panasonic, Comdial, Nortel, Partner and Ipitomy telephone systems.  We are adding Westford’s expertise in paging systems, coaxial cabling, fiber optic cabling and data cabling to our portfolio.  Convergent is an authorized ShoreTel reseller, which is a best of class VOIP based phone system.  We sell and support E-Metrotel that is an emerging open source system designed to integrate directly into existing Nortel systems. This type integration provides tremendous cost savings by reusing existing equipment and a cost effective stepped migration path to a fully VOIP system.  E-Metrotel is also a powerful fully featured unified communications platform to be considered in it’s own right when replacing an entire system.  Convergent employs expertise in video conferencing providing complete conference rooms down to distributed video conferencing solutions.
