Overview

1. General Description

a. Reports to the Convergent Communications Sales Manager.
a. Generates revenue by developing market potential through prospecting, lead generation, qualifying opportunities, proposing solutions, forecasting and closing sales.
b. The primary focus is to hunt for new opportunities to sell ShoreTel business telephone systems.
c. Promote other Convergent products and services including but not limited to;
i. Internet Assurance Managed Service.
ii. Firewall, Application Management and Security products.
iii. Polycom Video Conferencing.

Responsibilities

a. Meet or exceed established goals and objectives as defined by the Sales Manager including but not limited to;
i. Any assigned sales quotas.
ii. Written tangible and intangible business objectives.
b. Provide a written business plan using the template we provided that outlines action items in detail including but not limited to;
i. Prospecting plan that includes specific target accounts with plan of record for product strategy and customer need.
ii. Networking plan to include who and how you will begin meeting new and existing business contacts specifically to develop business relationships.
iii. Association plan to define participation in community and professional groups.
iv. Define any vertical markets you plan to specialize in and include specific details naming accounts, contacts and business strategy.
v. Define any marketing resources you will need or want submitting a budget if necessary.
c. Establish and maintain on line social media accounts including but not limited to;
i. Linked In (Mandatory), Facebook and Twitter.
d. Work with Director of Marketing to develop promotional plans to support your business plan and product strategy.
e. Conduct business professionally and ethically as a representative of Convergent Communications.

Skill Requirements

Working knoweldge of technical selling and basic telecommunications engineering skills. Must have excellent communications skills and work well with people.
